Oh come on thompsoc, let it rip; we haven't had a real entertaining battle here since E and Pa Marmo went at it a few years back. I'm sure there'd be a conga line willing to take you on!
Yes Neil
There would be more than a conga line!
It would be a Tsunami of Posters.
I would love to battle it out but my generals ( the Mods ) have me in chains!

Derek Hine vs Noel Judkins and Gerard Sholly is like comparing:

* Luke Ball to Luke Rounds
* Peter Daicos to Peter Marshall
* James Clement to Gerald Betts
* Jamie Elliott to Bill Valli
* Tony Shaw to Gary Shaw
* Brian Taylor to Dale Woodhall
* Nathan Buckley to Neville Shaw
* Gavin Brown to Jason Croall
* Scott Pendlebury to Scott Knight
* Dane Swan to Dwayne Griffin
* Darren Millane to Darren McLaine
* Shane Morwood to Shane Woewodin
* Jack Regan to Jack Anthony
* Peter Moore to Peter Carter
* Greg Phillips to Greg Fyfe
* John Greening to Johnny Markov
* Terry Waters to Terry Domburg
and Murray Weideman to Murray Batt!!

We all should say well done Dekka and crew!!

I love the way every deal involved another club and a shuffling of picks. Involving other clubs and everyone getting who they want and moving up in the draft or receiving additional picks demonstrates that dealing with Collingwood can achieve real positive outcomes.

I'd rather wait 9 days for a complex deal to go through than take the Swans approach and straight swap with the Eagles. Each trade should extract the maximum benefit for as many parties as possible.

Well done Decka!

Ha,ha, funny days they were, nothing like a bit of vitriol to spark things up a bit. In relation to the thread, I think master Hine has been amazing. I think, Hine, Wright and Wells are standouts.

That's an interesting way of looking at it. I'd prefer to just extract that maximum value for Collingwood, but we do of course need to continue trading with the rest of the competition in future years, so fair point. Can't have it all our own way.

I think our willingness to give up a lot more for the players we got than what we brought in for those we lost might have won us a few favours. Brisbane and GWS will hate us of course, but I reckon Crows, Port, North and Melbourne will be happy to trade with us again.

The main thing is we improved the best 22. Can't fault Hine for that.

After securing Howe, treloar, and aish, i think this thompsec guy owes Hine an apology, he did better than i thought he would, and he did very well in the last draft too. Mind you, id still love to have graham wright back from the dawks, sitting beside Derek at the trade table, the dynamic duo. :P

Even before this year, Hine has shown he is a superb operator. Everyone makes the odd mistake but Hine's hits far outweigh his misses, which is why, after only 4 years since starting the rebuild, we now have a squad filled with young, high-end talent.

It will still take a couple of years playing together before we see the full benefit, but if you aren't impressed by what we have assembled, I feel sorry for you.
kill for collingwood!
