Ask yourself, who was the last bonafide A Grader he has drafted? Beams in 08' is probably that.

Moore is going to be special but the window cleaner would have picked him up as a Father Son.

Hine has really had a bad few years and ever since he became the List Manager, he has delivered poor results.

The loss of Kevin Taylor can't be understated either. He was with Hine til 2010 but took charge of Melbourne's recruiting after 2011. He's spanking Hine currently.
Don't mean to be picky mate but it's Jason Taylor.
Anyway Hine needs to be moved on... Enter Gubby!!

Jez07 I have been posting about Hine for at least 4 years.
I have had a torrent of abuse from hundreds of posters.
But I said 4 years ago that the last A grader was Beams.
And in 2016 I would say exactly that.
Moore is a given but the rest is ........
But remember "Hine is a genius"!
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Sorry, my bad! Kevin Taylor wrote the official stats book. It is Jason! You are correct.

Hine is very overrated. He has had the luxury of the most extensive and resourced recruiting network for years.

Unlike a lot of other clubs, he has 4 specialised development coaches rounding his draftee's up too.

His output is below average relative to the ROI.

Since there won't be enough people to replace all the guys Collingwood is going to sack on Sunday, perhaps we could get them to sit at a round table, with their position titles written on cards placed in front of them - they could then pass their card to the person seated to their left as a means of determining everyone's new job. Just think: Swanny becomes President, Aish becomes coach, Travis gets to run the netball team and - by that most tragic of Collingwood fates - Gubby gets appointed to do the kick ins. Pendlebury becomes boot studder, Derek takes Sidebottom's place (giving a whole new meaning to "gut running"), Buckley gets to man the bar in the Social Club and Eddie is the new CHF.

A change is, as they say, as good as a holiday.

How about starting a thread about our boot studders role in why we are performing poorly.

In the 2013 draft, Marcus Bontempeli was tipped to be taken at between 10 and 15. It's well known that Hine wanted to draft him at 6. That would've been Hine's "Scott Pendelbury moment". Unfortunately the Bulldogs had the same idea and took Bont at 4. So Hine took Scharenberg at 6. Good choice except Scharenberg then did 2 ACLs. Can't blame Hine for that.
Then Hine took Freeman at 10. Good choice except Freeman turned out to have rubber twangy hamstrings. Can't blame Hine for that.

Hine took Maynard at 30. I believe that he'll eventually turn out to be an A grader. Give him time and experience. I think that Hine's scorecard should be marked more positive than negative.

Can't believe Cripps went at 13 in 2013 when we picked Shaz and Freeman. Shaz may be as good in time.
Was Freeman rated as highly as a player, or did we pick him because of his speed?
