1. If you've decided Wade and Nevill are history, why go to 34 y.o. Paine ? He's not even keeping for Tasmania and he's not in particularly good batting form.
Alex Carey was a few pundits' choice and is 8 years younger than Paine.
2. Shaun Marsh at #6 ?? Again, if you reckon Maxwell, Henriques and Cartwright weren't up to it, why not go for 25 y.o. Jake Lehmann, instead of the 34 y.o. Marsh - who opens for WA ? Boof's son young and in form. Has a century, this season.
This will be Marsh's 8th. recall to the Test team.
Bancroft was a cert, given his form and Renshaw's.
Oz cricket selectors - are you joking ??

Totally agree Donny. How could you possibly drop Carey after the performance he put up the other night??? Ok, if the selectors decide that Paine is good enough for the test team, fair enough, but why then do they have to pick him for the ODI's? Paine scores at about a run every second ball which is not good enough for one day cricket. Particularly as we have other options in Carey, Wade and even Handscomb and Bancroft who can all do the keeper's job.
