There's a lot of water to flow under the bridge before the first Test against India, but the second tier of Oz fast bowlers are starring, in the first round of Shield cricket.
Jackson Bird took 5/32 & 5/42 in Tasmania's drubbing of Queensland, Chris Tremain has 8 wickets, so far, against WA, with 5 more chances, and Trent Copeland took 6/86 in SA's first innings.
I see James Pattinson is named in Victoria's squad for the season, after another recovery from injury and surgery.
The Test attack - Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon looks settled, but, if any of those 3 quicks falter, good to see the next level impressing the selectors. Add to the ones I mentioned, Michael Neser and Brendan Doggett who were in the Test squad and have already returned home.
Another one thereabouts is Nathan Coulter-Nile, in the UAE with the Oz T20 squad.
Joe Mennie and Chadd Sayers keep taking wickets for SA.
Then, there's Billy Stanlake and Andrew Tye - both in the UAE for the T20s.

It's a game. Enjoy it.

Not hard to see why Victoria has won the first two matches - each, by an innings.
Scott Boland has 15 wickets @ 14.20 and Chris Tremain, 15 @ 15.13
Double tons from Will Pucovski and Marcus Harris set up the wins but it's been these 2 quicks who've finished the job.

Worrall has 3/58 in WA's second innings and 10 wickets for the match.
He has 6 more possible scalps to improve on his best match figures - 10/122, in this match.
Must be included in the 12 for Adelaide.
