 Should have loaded up, though the S. Africa-Bangladesh pre-game odds looked more glaring to me. For two games in a row, the punters have been a bit mad.

For cricket's sake, what a relief 350 was highly competitive and it didn't turn out that par was 450.

After a disastrous first two games, S. Africa's stage of elimination odds at bet365:

Group 1.18 [77%]
SF 8.00 [11%]
Runners Up 13.00 [7%]
Winners 21.00 [4%]

(Might have missed the boat to bet on them missing the SF.)

Another plot element of last night's game:

"In an occasionally fractious encounter, the umpires pointedly warned Morgan about his side throwing the ball in on the bounce and later issued the same reminder to Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed." (PA)

The level of desperation goes up the flatter the pitch. The ICC needs to act to make things fairer between batsman and bowler, even in ODIs. Regular scores of 450 are an existential threat to the game.

The whole England ODI strategy for years has been about flat-track bullying. They've known they can dictate the pitches at home for the WC.

And another one! Now 3 wickets in five balls!
...

And next over, Hassan joins in!
