For cricket's sake, what a relief 350 was highly competitive and it didn't turn out that par was 450.

The level of desperation goes up the flatter the pitch. The ICC needs to act to make things fairer between batsman and bowler, even in ODIs. Regular scores of 450 are an existential threat to the game.
The whole England ODI strategy for years has been about flat-track bullying. They've known they can dictate the pitches at home for the WC.
