ODI World Cup.
Russell keeps chancing his arm. He smokes a straight drive along the ground for 4. But he goes once too often. He skies it. Maxwell takes a great catch running back.
Russell threw it all away.
6/216 (38.5).
Brathwaite comes in, but don't worry. Oz will not let Stokes bowl to him.
Holding (in praise of Maxwell's catch): "If you're wearing shades, wear them on your eyes."
Odds: Oz 62%, WI 38%.
RRR is only 6.8. It's all about the wickets.

Broadcaster's predictor says Oz 47%, WI 53%.
But Starc gets Brathwaite's wicket.
7/252.
And a second wicket in the same over! It's the key wicket of Holder.
Starc 150 ODI wickets.
8/252 (46).
Odds: Oz 84%, WI 16%.

Oz will win now for sure. Batsmen are playing straight without scoring. Nurse hits it to long-on and does not take the single!
Then some nice fielding on the boundary by Maxwell saves 3 runs.
9/257 (49).
WI at least have lasted longer than Oz did.
Despite the win, Oz have some concerns. e.g. Finch's batting as opener, NCN's bowling, which has leaked runs, and Zampa's bowling too.
The last over, bowled by NCN, won't change the result, but NCN has just conceded four 4s in a row to end the game. He finished with 0/70 (10).
9/273 (50). A 15-run win in the end.

cricinfo reports that when NCN came in to bat at 6/147 their forecast was 232 [looking back, I see the bookmaker's line was 247.5], and when he got out it was 296. The life he got on 61 when Hetmyer dropped him cricinfo claims cost 23 extra runs in Oz's total score.

Did AB de Villiers want to have his cake and eat it too?
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/ ... ence-indec
"The combination of frustration with de Villiers for choosing when he wanted to play, and fascination at his ability to justify his choices by performing when he did play became confusing. Should South Africa be angry with him for being selective? Grateful to him for turning up when he did? Accommodating to his needs?
...
In some ways, you can't blame de Villiers for wanting to be involved, especially given the state of the current side. But you can only wonder how he managed to misread the team dynamic so spectacularly that he thought the door was still open for him. In the end, his numbers will ensure he remains a cricketing great. But his legacy will be defined not only by his excellence but also his indecisiveness. It's worth remembering that both of those were a long time in the making."
