Afghanistan won toss, elected to bat.

The 5th over, bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi, went:

4 2 4 W (not out overturned by review) W 4lb (no hat-trick).

14 runs, 2 wickets, the TV umpire overturning the on-field umpire, no hat-trick.

--------------------------------

Another wicket now.

Afghanistan 3/57 (12).

cricinfo's forecast falls from 251 to 205.

Afghanistan get to 3/77 (15).

Odds: Pakistan 84%, Afghanistan 16%.
Line: 216.5.

Shadab bowls Asghar.

Afghanistan 4/121 (25.2).

And four balls later, appeal for LBW, not out... and review!
Umpire's call!

At 3/101 (19), cricinfo forecasted 252. Their forecast must be lower now...
... but the odds are pretty much unchanged.

Odds: Pakistan 85%, Afghanistan 15%.

In the other game, Oz win toss, bat.

No changes for Oz. For NZ, Sodhi & Nicholls in for Henry & Munro, who have both been very poor.

--------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Riaz gets Nabi!

Afghanistan 6/167 (36.4).

Odds: Pakistan 83%, Afghanistan 17%.

Boult opens against Warner. There are 3 slips... and some swing.

M. Clarke approves of the selection. The good thing is that all members of the squad will have had at least 2 games before the SFs.

Maiden over to start.

CdG takes the ball at the other end!

Henry is out of the side. Ferguson is more crash and bash than swing and seam.

Finch dropped! Guptill one-handed at short cover.

Another maiden.

Boult gets Finch LBW!

Oz 1/15 (4.3). Khawaja in.

Well, that wicket makes Khawaja & Smith fit better into the batting order...

Two balls later, Khawaja wafts with a crooked bat, and Guptill drops another catch, this time at slip!!

That is not Test-quality batting... Terrible shot from Khawaja. Very lucky to survive. The catch should have been taken, I reckon.

Odds: NZ 43%, Oz 57%.

At 1/16 (5.3), the broadcast predictor says 296.

Now Khawaja plays and misses against CdG. Not convincing batting from Khawaja.

----------------------

And next over Warner squirts a ball just over the fielder!

That reminds me of his dismissal last game, though it's a different type of bowling.

There's a covering over the unused pitch.
What will everyone say if a fielder trips on the edge and injures himself?

----------------------

At 1/25 (7), cricinfo forecasts 287.

Meanwhile...

Afghanistan 9/219 (48.2).

Wickets in the late overs... Najibullah out in the 45th over, Rashid Khan in the 47th.

Between those wickets, after 46 overs, cricinfo forecasted 240. After Rashid Khan's wicket, their forecast was 235.

-------------------------------------------

And Afghanistan finish on 9/227 (50).

Odds at change of innings: Pakistan 83%, Afghanistan 17%.

Ferguson comes on and immediately gets Warner caught behind.
Not great defence by Warner. He tried to get everything out of the way, but couldn't.

Oz 2/38 (9.1). Smith in.

The broadcast predictor said 300 in the previous over.

This is not the first time Ferguson has got Warner out.

Odds: NZ 47%, Oz 53%.

Boult continues for his 6th over.

Baz M. in commentary approves, because Khawaja is looking shaky. He says, if they can just get another wicket... On cue, Khawaja plays and misses. He's not a finisher, and right now he's not looking like he has defensive technique...

Slater wonders where Maxwell will bat. Will he come in if there's a wicket now? He suggests Carey sliding up. Baz says the other factor is NZ's two spinners.

Smith hooks and Guptill swallows the sharp catch.
Ferguson has both Warner and Smith. Guptill has 2 drops and 1 catch. At this rate, he'll have 12 chances this innings.

Oz 3/46 (11.2). Who will come in now? It's Stoinis. Good choice, I'd say. Save Maxwell for later...

On suggestions Smith is unlucky: I don't agree. If you don't want to be caught, don't hit it in the air, unless you hit it right over the fielder.

NZ are now favourites.

Odds: NZ 60%, Oz 40%.
