That's great. Since that awful 6-hitting orgy of his, Morgan has failed three times. It's the short ball that takes him down yet again.

England 3/207 (33.4). Stokes comes in ahead of Buttler.

A wicket maiden.

Odds: England 66%, India 34%.
Line: 324.5.

Root tries a funky scoop shot and is caught in the deep by Pandya.

England 4/277 (44.1). But that brings Buttler to the crease.

cricinfo's forecast rises from 321 to 330 with Root's wicket.

Line: 330.5.
--------------

Buttler hits his second ball for 6.
Kholi misfields the next ball and allows him 3.
Stokes then reaches 50.

Odds: England 73%, India 27%.

Great death-over bowling by Bumrah!

........

But not from Shami, who bowls a full toss and is thumped down the ground for 4.

England reach 300 in the 47th over.

Shami bowls a rank full toss and Buttler hits it past square leg for 4.
Another full toss next ball goes for 6.

Pathetic bowling by Shami.

But Buttler top edges the last ball and Shami takes the catch on the second attempt. Buttler grimaces as he leaves the field.

17 runs and a wicket from that over.

England 5/310 (47). Woakes comes in.

England 5/319 (48 ).

Shami to finish his spell.

First ball: short and Woakes is out.

6/319 (48.1).

His last over was rubbish, but Shami has five wickets and is on a hat-trick.

Second ball: full and Stokes hammers it for 4.
Third ball: disappears over square leg for 6. 65m. These are short boundaries.
Fourth ball: another 4.

Rubbish bowling by Shami.

England 6/334 (49). 89 runs off the last 9 overs.

Bumrah to restore some order.

First ball: yorker. No run. Great bowling.
Second ball: single. Stokes is 79* (53), but off strike.
Third ball: Swing and miss. Dhoni misses the stumps! Stokes sneaks back on strike.
Fourth ball: funky scoop shot straight to fine leg. Wicket!
Bumrah's delivery is perilously close to a no ball, but I think it's okay. Yes.

7/336 (49.4). Archer comes in.

Fifth ball: Swing and miss.
Sixth ball. Single.

Great bowling from Bumrah. Rubbish from the other end.

England finish on 7/337 (50).

Odds at change of innings: England 72%, India 28%.

I'm not sure Roy not fielding in this innings is ethical.

They are pretending he got hit while batting. Obviously, we should suspect they are just resting his hamstrings.

Pandya out.

India 5/267 (44.5).

And caught by the sub fielder who should maybe not be out there. If England want to rest Roy's injury, they should be forced to field one man short.

Odds: England 93%, India 7%.

India 5/276 (46).

cricinfo forecasts India 3%.

That may be generous, the way these two are batting now. They are just taking singles.

Dhoni finally hits a 4, but that was just a misfield. The last 13 scoring shots by India before that were singles.

In the 49th over, they now need more than 6 a ball.

It's over.

India finish on 5/306 (50). England win by 31 runs.

----------------------------------

Reports India are being booed.

SL are officially out now. The path to a SF for Pakistan & Bangladesh is very narrow.

If we keep pretending India & NZ are certainties to join Oz in the SFs, the odds of making the SFs after India's capitulation to the flat-track bullies are:

England 70%
Pakistan 26%
Bangladesh 4%
