Matt Wade & Mitch Marsh have been pulled from the side to bolster the ailing WC squad. They are obvious choices. Wade at least offers the possibility of power hitting. I don't know if Marsh has been bowling well, but he's batted & bowled a fair amount. Stoinis has hardly been bowling at all.

Have any others played well enough on this tour to be decent additions to the WC squad?

Please, no Travis Head, selectors. That would do my head in.

M. Taylor mentioned Puck too. That would be a huge shock. (I think Taylor would be just as shocked as the rest of us if that happened.)

I think the ones we'd like to work are Turner & Agar, but I don't know if they've shown any form on this tour. It looks like Turner hasn't batted. Maybe he hasn't even played at all. Wishing that they could come in and they'd fire is like the selectors & coaches currently hoping NCN will come into the side and fire. (A huge gamble.)

Handscomb was added first, when S Marsh got injured. M Marsh was already on standby for Stoinis.

Wade was also added when Khawaja pulled a hammy.

Yep, so Clarke (I think) thought that this meant the selectors won't have the guts (not his words -- broadcast commentators have to be more diplomatic than that) to select Wade for the XI ahead of Handscomb (because there's now an implied pecking order). But I think that's silly. They need to stop thinking about appearances, etc., and just objectively pick a team with the best chance of winning in the particular circumstances. Maybe that is with Handscomb in, but if it's with Wade instead they just have to go for it.
