Ian Smith praises Carey's keeping in general.

That's interesting, coming from a former keeper.

It was a smart stumping.

Carey misses a simple stumping off Maxwell's bowling.

So much for Ian Smith's previous praise. :(

The standard of keeping in this WC has been disgraceful.

Meanwhile, in the other game...

India 0/137 (23).

Odds: SL <1%, India >99%.

Oz will have to beat SA if they want that top spot and SF against NZ.

Again, on a flat pitch, the Oz bowling has had no answers...

Cummins and Starc have had bad games so far.

But Behrendorff gets FdP out. 100 (94).

Good change ball from Behrendorff, though you wonder if getting the century contributed to getting out.

SA 3/265 (43). Duminy, the last specialist bowler, in. This is his 199th and final ODI for SA.

Relief for Oz. If they take a couple more wickets they can restrict SA a bit.

Odds: Oz 38%, SA 62%.
Line: 327.5.

Maxwell is being bowled out. Maxwell has been grumpy this game.

Duminy hits his first ball for 4 on the off-side.

Rassie vdD hits the third ball for 6.

Rassie was in single figures, batting at snail's pace, when Carey missed a simple stumping off Maxwell's bowling. Will that miss cost Oz the game? cricinfo claims his simple drop against India cost that game.

Maxwell finishes with 0/57 (10).

Starc has been better in this spell with the old ball.

And Stoinis takes a good catch in the deep. They will check it, but Stoinis isn't in doubt. The soft signal was not out. But it's clearly out! Yep, the TV umpire agrees.

Duminy goes.

SA 4/295 (46.5).

Odds: Oz 38%, SA 62%.

M. Taylor thinks the chase will be tough.

There's a huge difference between chasing 300 and 330, so these final three overs are crucial. So far, S. Africa have got away with having only 4+1 batsmen.

Smith misses yet another run out. It was the remaining batsman, R vdD.

And they get an overthrow. And that puts Rassie back on strike, where he hits a 6. Sloppy fielding from Oz. Smith has missed many run outs this tournament. Yet the commentators ignore them and keep praising his fielding. You have to hit the stumps when it matters.

The broadcast predictor says 326.

This is a chaotic over now, as the 6 is followed by a wide and a 4.

16 from the over. Cummins is having a very bad game.

4/313 (48 ).

Rassie was 5 runs from 25 balls, and now he's 90 from 91. What is Carey thinking now?

In the 49th over, the broadcast predictor says 334.

An edge from Pretorius is well stopped by Carey.

And next ball Starc uproots the stumps.

SA 5/317 (48.5).

Unlike Cummins, Starc has come back well in these late overs.

Who will bowl the last over? Cummins.

Rassie vdD needs 8 for his century.

Cummins just needs damage control after his awful previous over.

First ball: Single.
Second ball: 4 from Phehlukwayo. Pat, what are you doing?
Third ball: Bye.

3 balls to get 7 runs...

Fourth ball: 2 runs.

2 balls to get 5 runs...

Fifth ball: Dot.
Sixth ball: Hits it high. It goes towards the boundary... and Maxwell is there to take the catch!

S. Africa finish on 6/325 (50).

Has Carey dropped the World Cup? He has a chance to redeem himself in the run chase.

Odds at change of innings: Oz 34%, SL 66%.

In the other game, India have finally lost a wicket. Sharma 103 (94).

Again, you'd think it was the century that helped get him out. That was his second ball after he brought up his fifth century of this WC (though Rahul had faced a few).

India 1/189 (30.1). You know it's over when the bookie stops taking bets...

They are (almost) certain to win to overtake Oz, so Oz will have to chase down the 325 to get top spot back.

----------------------------------

India 1/230 (39).
Rahul 101* (111).
