Meanwhile, England in the one-off test against Ireland...
... all out for 85. Stunning flat-track bullies.
Ireland in reply are 2/45 (18.4).
This could be a very low-scoring Ashes. There is no good Test batting lineup in world cricket today, just loads of flat-track bullies with no defensive techniques.
And Ireland have just drawn level, two wickets down. They really should look to build as large a lead as possible if they want to win this Test, rather than just embarrass England, which has already been achieved.
In the England innings, flat-track bully Bairstow was out for a duck (as were Ali & Woakes). Then again, their one Test-quality batsman, Root, made only two. On debut, flat-track bully and serial bad boy Roy made 5. No doubt his batting was "f***ing embarrassing".
So, Had’s 12 made 170 (Pucovski 37, Carey 26; Marsh 5/34, Pattinson 3/19, Tremain 2/27). At Stumps, Hick’s 12 are 2/35 (Bancroft 25*, Burns 0, Smith 8, Wade 0*; Cummins 1/14, Siddle 1/3), chasing 156, so they need another 121 to win.
