Huge appeal for LBW. No shot played!! Not out. They review.

It's just up to ball tracking.

Missing off stump by a long way. Wow... no reviews left. Hope the umpires don't muck up. You wonder whether that affects the umpires' decision-making, knowing a team cannot review.

[Look at http://magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.ph ... 61#1925761 for more on Smith's 4 wickets and 3 runs in a previous Lord's Test.]

England 6/201. Tea.

A good partnership for England. Oz will want to break it soon after the break.

They are trying to get Woakes out hooking.

We're told Woakes is a bit of a happy hooker.

.................................

Woakes top edges for 6.

.................................

Woakes tries to evade and is hit on the helmet. There's a delay for the concussion test and the helmet replacement.

Woakes given out caught behind down leg. Immediate review.

There's a small spike on Ultra Edge!

Out!! So how can Woakes not realize he snicked it?

England 7/210. That was the 2nd wicket for Cummins.
-----------------

All of that was one long over. The uncontrolled 6. The helmet hit. The physio check. The dismissal. The unsuccessful review.

Athers: "Good decision from Aleem Dar in real time."

Oz are lucky he got it right, because they have burnt their reviews.

Cummins gets Archer.

A good(ish) catch in the end by Khawaja. Archer tried to flick to leg and the ball spooned in almost the opposite direction.

Cummins was trying to continue with the short-ball stuff, but it wasn't all that high.

England 8/230.

-----------------

The short stuff will continue for Broad, especially after they failed to do last Test and allowed a long partnership.

Bairstow reaches 50.

-----------------------

Then a big top edge from Broad is dropped by Warner running back towards the point fence. He got there but couldn't hold on.

Cummins bowls a huge wide down leg past Paine for 4. It's called byes, but it was a wide.

Broad is slogging. Lots of men in the deep.

11 runs and a dropped catch from the over.

250 comes up for England.

But two balls later Lyon bowls Broad. An inside edge hits leg. It was the ball that went on with the arm. Broad expected spin and it went through the gate.

England 9/251.

Holding says that's why Lyon should bowl from the Nursery End. The slope will help the ball that goes on, without stopping his turning ball to go up the hill.

Shane Warne talks about farming the strike. He then says Steve Waugh used to take a single off the first ball of the over batting with the tail to get not outs.

Holding replies that he was wondering how long it'd take for Warne to say that.

:)

Bairstow holes out off Lyon.

England 258 all out.

The game is moving along quickly. There'll still be just under 20 overs for Oz to bat before stumps if the light holds up. (They won't bowl them all though.)

The England tail did well, after England were 6/138, but Oz won't be unhappy with the total.

Broad bowls Warner.

The ball came back and bowled him through the gate.

Oz 1/11. Khawaja in.

What rain? What draw? These two batting orders are so bad, it'd need a biblical flood to guarantee a draw.

Broad has taken Warner's wicket three times out of three in this series.

Wonder if there's a night watchman padded up now.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Stumps.

Oz 1/30.

Bancroft & Khawaja live to fight another day.

draw is the favourite closely followed by the aussies

with the aussies it all hinges on the current innings and if they can get a fairly large lead and a lot depends on the current batsmen and smith too
