After the early wicket of Matt Wade(6), Steve Smith and Tim Paine added 53 for the 6th. wicket, on Day 3 of the second Ashes Test, at Lord's.

Holding says pre-lunch England's bowlers bowled 16% of deliveries full to Smith. They have increased that after lunch, but Holding wonders why now when the ball is old.

He says bowlers are scared to bowl the yorker.

But that's evidence that these numbers are meaningless... Well, not meaningless, but you'd have to be crazy not to think very hard about inflation here. People who are sure of Steve's batting greatness are fixated on those numbers without context.

Normally, yes, but I don't know about that now. His forearm could have a hairline fracture, for all we know. I think Cummins needs to take charge and at least see off Archer. Maybe Smith can play Leach.
