Cummins starts after lunch.

Warne tells us he's had a bunch of 4-fors against England, but not yet a 5-for.

Botham suggest spin at one end, pace from the other.

Cummins has the most wickets in this series so far. Broad has 19, Hazlewood 16, Archer 16, Lyon 14.

Denly drives Cummins straight for 4 and reaches 50* (112).

He ducks down, takes his eyes off the ball, and is hit by a short ball that did not get up.

Botham: "If you're going to bowl that short ball, shouldn't you have short leg in?"

And now he almost plays it on to the stumps. The boot heel was in the way. Not sure if it was on target.

Warne: "Ooh!!"

Warne says Lyon hasn't bowled full enough.

Warne: "Look where the keeper's right foot will be when the bowler comes in."

Bairstow almost gives a catch to bat pad. It bounced just in front of Marnus.

Nasser says Lyon is not great at hitting the rough. Only 39% of balls to RHers have hit the rough today. Nasser cites stats that Lyon's figures are better when he's not playing with Starc than when he is.

Warne: "He's bowling way too straight. ... Just bowl fuller and outside the off stump. And just be patient. It's as simple as that."

The other (i.e. not Cummins) bowlers need to start taking wickets. If they rely on Cummins to take all ten wickets, this will be a draw.

Cummins bowls a maiden.

Finally, Lyon gets Denly, popping up to Marnus at bat pad.

England 5/93 (39.2). Buttler in.

Botham says that's what they wanted him to bowl all along.

Taylor thinks Warne has been a bit harsh.

Lyon got bounce, and it took Denly's gloves.

Taylor suggests a bat pad on the off side. Botham repeats the suggestion.

Buttler edges Cummins for 4.

Warne: "64 overs to go after this one." He says these two will have to bat for a long time.

The England 100 comes up. Cheers and applause ring out.

Now 4 byes, as the short ball takes off and flies over Paine's right glove.

Cummins beats Buttler to end the over.

Warne wants an extra man on the off side -- "bat pad and four men around the bat".

Bairstow changes his guard to off stump.

Warne says the leg slip is in the wrong place.
Warne: "He's there for the one turned off his hip. ... I'm not sure how he's going to catch that."

They show Lyon dismissing Buttler four years ago. A couple were from around the wicket.

Nasser: "Lyon was all over Buttler last time they were here."

--------

Ponting says that (straight) line is "a little bit too easy".

Lyon does come around the wicket now.
Ponting: "He doesn't need the footmarks to get turn and bounce."
Nasser: "If he's going to bowl around the wicket, leg slip needs to go finer." He does go finer.

Lloyd is going through all the dismissals this series at the length 6 1/2 metres.
Lloyd: "6 1/2 metres. Goodbye."

Nasser: "He was our coach. If you ever wonder why you hammered us..."

It is Buttler's birthday. 29.

------------------------------

There's a delay, as Paine scoots off the field. Toilet break??
That won't help the over rate.

Hazlewood is bowling. Nasser says it won't be long before Starc comes back.

--------------------------

Bairstow drives Lyon for 4. Nasser says that should not put Lyon off. Ponting says the mid off could be straighter, to make the batsman play to mid off's left, not his right.

Now Buttler hits Lyon, coming around the wicket, for 4 through mid on.

An expensive over.

Starc does come back. Hazlewood's spell was just the two overs.

Around the wicket. 3 slips. Regulation midwicket.

Bairstow gets 3 through mid wicket from the last ball of the over.

Labuschagne!

Athers: "I thought this might be the case. ... Not a bad place to bowl a bit of occasional legspin."

Deep point (Head). Two men out on the leg side.

And it goes to Head. Athers tells us Marnus bowled over 200 overs in the Championship.

That was a nice legbreak second ball. Left alone by the batsman.

They milk singles.

Athers: "Just a bit short at the moment."

Starc's average speed has been 87.7mph.

Gower: "You get the feel at the moment that not much is happening with the ball. Pitch has gone quiet..."

Athers says Paine made signals to Head. Spin from Head too?

Yes, Head.

Athers: "Different type of off spin. ... One assumes he won't get the same amount of bounce."

But he's getting a lot of turn.

The crowd is singing (or moaning) God Save the Queen.

Athers: "That's not a bad start from Head."
