Root has a go.

Wade paddles and reaches 50*(65).

Warne says the spinner needs patience.

Warne: "Just toil away. There's no rush for time."
He thinks Leach has tried to bowl too many "magic balls".

........

Marsh cuts the short ball from Archer for 4.

Oz 5/148 (43.3). Paine.

Lloyd: "So tentative."

Taylor: "That's a soft dismissal."

Appeal. Not out. They review.

The umpire asks whether it's an appeal for LBW or caught.

Clearly no bat involved.

Ball tracking. Missing! Yay!

Archer beat Paine for pace, but it wasn't close at all. Wasted review.

Paine cover drives for 4 and brings up the Oz 150.

Wade lofts Root just over Broad. Broad saves the boundary.
They are checking the TV. It's fine.

But Paine cover drives Root for 4.

Close to tea, the target is down to 239 runs.

Leach returns.

Lloyd: "Stuart Broad has gone off... He looks thrilled, Jason Roy."

Wade skips down and cover drives for 4. Woakes dives but fails.

Warne: "Good example of how to use your feet to the spinner."

Lloyd: "Look how far he gets down the pitch. That's excellent."

Warne says the field is like Root has given Leach a "safety blanket".
Warne: "Runs are irrelevant."

Wade almost holes out to deep midwicket.

Lloyd: "You're a lucky lad, Matthew Wade. Just before tea."

It was about a foot in front of Curran. Warne thinks he misjudged it a bit and "sat back".

Oz 5/167 (47). Tea.

Curran jumps , touches his toes, stretches, and comes in to bowl to Wade.
He still looks like he's 12.

Paine drives a "juicy full toss" through cover for 4 to end the Curran over.

One really big partnership and there will be hope, but they don't look like they can stop cheap wickets falling. Maybe these two can be the two.

Now Wade drives a "long half-volley" from Archer for 4.

Athers adds that Root has to make sure England bring the intensity after tea.

Holding says Paine has done okay with the gloves, but...

Paine glances, but it's straight off thigh pad for 4lb.

Holding: "Seam was quite upright. Just that it started a bit too straight."

Athers: "Normal swing, not reverse."

Big appeal for LBW against Wade. Not out. They talk... and review.

Let's hope it's pitching outside leg. Surely it is, unless there's swing.

Yup!! Another lost review. Yay! 8)

Root is suffering Paine disease. They've blown both reviews with weak reviews.

Paine glances Curran fine for 4.

There doesn't look much in the pitch. If Oz had just taken their chances (catches and reviews), they'd be almost home now.
