Yes. Only Day 1 of the second round of SS, but these issues become of interest.
Wade, Khawaja and Head need big second dig innings, after scores of 20, 2 & 0, respectively, to keep their hopes alive for spots 5 & 6 in the first Test team.
Starc took a couple of wickets but is behind Neser, for the third quick berth. Awaiting news on Patto's injury.

Shaun Marsh is 100 n.o. v. Victoria.
I suppose, with other contenders falling over, he does come back into selector's thoughts.
We seem to have a cupboardful of quicks, with Cummins & Hazlewood guaranteed 2 spots in the first Test team. Then, Starc, Pattinson and Neser (particularly because it's at the Gabba). Riley Meredith continues to impress, as well.

I don't think he's injured. (It's hard to injure yourself bowling off spin on a dead pitch, as he did last game.)Donny wrote:I've heard nothing on a Pattinson injury.

Kurtis Patterson, though, is injured. Yesterday, it was reported "NSW today confirming he would not bat at No.4 in the Blues' first innings".

Almost all spots confirmed, after today.
Warner - was going to get a game anyway but his opening ton confirmed that
Harris - Has done enough
Labu - Yep
Smith - Yep
Marsh - How could they not pick him, now ?
#6 - the one spot still up for grabs. Depends whether they still want an M Marsh type there - Henriques, Stoinis - or go with Wade. Possible dark horse: Pukovski.
Paine
Cummins
Starc - was in doubt but 5/40 & 4/20 speaks loudly.
Lyon
Hazlewood.

By the way Patto only bowled a few overs of offies, in that farce at St. Kilda, helping his skipper who was trying to make a point.
