Cook bowls his 4 overs for 2/16. Just the one run and a wicket from the 16th over. 36 needed from 24.
Now 35 from 22.
And Short goes lbw. 6/117. The run rate required reaches 10 for the first time. Wells has to do it himself, now.

34 needed from 18 balls. It’s starting to look a good chance to be an all-Sydney final.

3 wides and a dot at the start of the 17th. And Neser follows up with a 4. 27 from 16 needed.
And a 2. 25 from 15, now. Make that 24 from 15 after a 4th wide this over.
Down to 19 from 13 with another 4 and a single.

2 overs to go, 18 needed. Sams has one, so this looks difficult for the Strikers, despite that 16-run over.
Sams to Wells. Just a single. 17 from 11.
Neser out! 7/135. 17 from 10. Wells back on strike. Just 1. 16 needed from 9. Siddle on strike.
Siddle out first ball. 8/136.

8/139 after 19. 13 required. Wells has strike. Morris to bowl the final over.
Wells caught behind first ball! That’s the game. 13 needed from 5. Stanlake will face on 9/139.
Dot.

Dot.
1. Thunder win by 9.

Almost as bad as NZ just losing 6/22 against India. From cruising at 3/119, needing about 6.6 per over, they were suddenly 9/141. They ended up losing by 8 runs. All this despite Dube bowling what may have been the only over he gets in a T20 international, in which he was carted for 34.

"In the Stars' 10 wins this season, Maxwell is averaging 99 with the bat and Stoinis 86.4 - but when they lose, the duo's numbers plummet to 18.2 and 24.4 respectively."
