Sounds like the Big Bash peaked a few years ago if crowds and TV ratings are anything to go by.

Well, the powers that be tried to make a shallow game to market to shallow people. What did they expect would happen to the bubble? At least (because it's run by CA) the money could in principle be going into domestic first-class and grass-roots cricket, which is not true of the IPL, which is just leaching money from the game.
