But seeing Cartwright bowl that last over makes you shake your head thinking about how he was parachuted into the Oz team a few years ago. Apparently he was rusty...
No excuse, he’d bowled in this comp already and bowled pies.

Problem is Stoinis can’t bowl and if it was 11 overs then Maxy bowls last with a quick bowling 10th. Just very bad luck with timing of rain.

But surely rain was forecasted? And then it's fairly standard for bowlers' overs to be restricted... Should Maxwell have been able to predict it?

In a previous game, Maxwell had to bowl the final over because NCN had a calf injury. That was fair enough.

Yes. Of course Maxy knew about the rain. That's why he elected to chase.

So surely it's partly his fault that he had to bowl himself and Cartwright for the last two overs that partly lost the match?

There's no guarantee any other bowler would have conceded fewer runs.

Do the names Dale Steyn, Kasigo Rabada or Pat Cummins ring any bells ?

All were rated as World #1, at one time or other. All have gone for 20+ in an over, at the death, in IPL or BBL.

Have any of those been ranked highly in T20, though?

It's a unique set of skills to close a slogathon (or ODI).

Cartwright's over was a disaster. If at least he'd had a plan and delivered it, I wouldn't criticise. He bowled a head high full toss. I think it was smashed for 6. And it was called a no ball, of course, so that's a free hit too...
