Rush of blood from Rohit.

A few minutes before lunch, he hooks a short ball from Robinson, straight to Curran, at deep backward square.

1/97. Rahul 48*.

I reckon the wicket is intentionally very flat, but their best plans have been sabotaged by the weather.

India will resume this morning (weather permitting) at 4/125 (46.4).

Miller (cricinfo) noted Anderson began the current over shortly before 2.30pm. He bowled his second ball at 4.15pm, the next two at 5pm.

14 wickets have fallen, in 113.4 overs.

If you really think it's a flat wicket, I respectably suggest you re-watch Jasprit Bumrah's spell.

It's not the pitch, right? I mean, it's not seaming so much, right?? It's the swing, which is because it's rainy and humid.

The ECB can't control the weather, unless they build a roof like at Marvel.

And the truth is: many of those wickets have been thrown away. How anyone can run himself out in a Test... Sheesh... These modern batsmen know how to lose their minds.

Even if there was seam, you could still argue that that was caused by the rain, moisture under the covers, etc., right??

What we know for sure is that Root and the ECB gave instructions to make the pitches flat, because they believe that England struggle to play in flat conditions overseas. That was reported on cricinfo.

I for one am very happy to see rain. It made the WTC final a great Test!

If balls are swinging only, the trajectory continues after pitching.

Bumrah, in particular, was swinging and then jagging off the wicket.

I am glad that the bowlers have something, despite the ECB's plans.

If it swings one way and then seams off the pitch the other way, that will warm my heart. 8)

It's raining again, but that's a small price to pay! :)

I am certain that if the England summer had been bright and sunny, this Test and the previous ones would have been run orgies from the FTBs.
