England 3/216. Lunch.

Good session for England. Root approaching yet another century. FTB Bairstow has reached 50.

It's a flat pitch now, I reckon. The bowlers in this series have to rely on weather conditions (which cannot be rigged towards the batsmen, unlike the pitch).

Root scored another century. He's now sailed into the 120s.

I'll go out on a limb and say he's probably the second-best batsman in the world right now, behind only Kane Williamson. He's had to carry the England batting lineup on his own.

Tea. England are now 50 runs behind with 5 wickets in hand.

Expect near parity after the first two innings.

Can Root make it a big one?

Root reaches 150.

What about 200 now?

cricinfo tells us this is "Root's 11th 150-plus score in Tests, joint-most for England".

India finally get a much-needed wicket, Moeen's.

The England tail will need to hang around with Root.

Curran out for a golden duck!

Ishant Sharma's hat-trick ball will have to wait, 'cos that was the last ball of the over.

Excellent bowling from Ishant, assisted by sharp slips catches by Kohli and Rohit.

7/342. Root 152*.

Hatty averted.

Bad news for Ishant that Root faced it. He would have loved to have bowled to Robinson!!
