But don't take our word! Look at the replay of Khawaja's dismissal in the first innings. Shocking technique!!!
Huge gap between bat and body. He hardly ever moves his feet. He also loves keeping the front knee straight. Only he knows why.And look at the stats!!! Against England, it's maybe 11 of his past 13 dismissals caught behind or at slip.
This is not what it's like for a superstar like Kane.There are 9+ modes of dismissal! You don't have to be caught in the cordon roughly 11/13 of the time! And the ball hardly moves in Oz. (And Khawaja is not an opener, so he's hardly there in the brief period it does.) Unlike in NZ, where e.g. in Hamilton it moves for the whole 80 overs!

If he waited until he'd scored a century before nicking off, it wouldn't be such a huge problem.

Meanwhile, media reported Khawaja and Head both failed in the domestic one-dayer. Dunno how much selectors care about one-dayers. But they may have to care, 'cos so little cricket is played.

The 60,000-seat Optus Stadium is currently scheduled to host the Vodafone Ashes finale from January 14.
Earlier this month, McGowan said he was "very confident" the Test match would go ahead, despite it coming just five days after the conclusion of the SCG Test.
