Two outstading young guns.

Post by Donny »

Victoria: Just turned 20 y.o. Will Pucovski. Right hand bat. Came into the Victorian team to replace Peter Handscomb.

He scored 188 from 414 balls to keep his team in the hunt, after Q'land had declared on 5/452, in the current SS match. It's his 4th. first class match and his second for the Bushies. His other 2 were for the CA XI. Until today, he averaged just 10.8 with the bat.

----------------------------------

South Australia: 24 y.o. Nick Winter - He's a lefty. Medium pace. In just his second first class match, he took 5/48 & 5/61 against NSW, in Round 7 of Sheffield Shield.

He took 5/85 on debut, against Victoria, in Round 6. There's probably a similar or even better first 4 bowling innings in first class cricket but three 5fas is certainly impressive.

Just to get a run with the Redbacks is notewporthy, as they have three high profile quicks, in Chadd Sayers, Dan Worrall and Joe Mennie.
Donny.

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

Puck concussed yet again.

Could say this is career-threatening, but it was probably career-threatening long ago.

What's happened with Winter these past few years? :?:

The same question occurred to me, K.

Hard to find anything on him, other than him playing some less than memorable BBL matches in January, this year.

His stats bring Bob Massie to mind - although Massie reached a much higher level of representation (Tests).

Puck still cannot throw.

“I’d like to say that if I’m playing Shield cricket for Victoria, and I’ve put my name up, I’m ready to go. I think the Pakistan tour is in March, so when I’m playing for Victoria, if I’m doing well and put performances on the board, I can’t see why I wouldn’t be in line to be selected there.
...

“I’m hoping the day comes where I get hit and I can just keep batting. That would be the ideal scenario. But it’s one of those things where I have full faith in the people around me that allow me to physically and mentally get out there and play good cricket.”
