England had the highest opening stand of the series (68) and then promptly lost 10/56. Shambolic. I very much enjoyed Wood’s dismissal - a full-blooded, exquisitely-timed hook shot, with the ball picked up elegantly from well outside off and punched straight down into middle and leg.

This bloke is a bit stiff not getting player of the series I reckon. What an amazing display of bowling, haven't seen a bowler dominate like that since the Windies phenomenal pace attack days.

Nick Paines (Tims brother) take on the victory...

"Pretty hard to watch this knowing full well that one of the key people in resurrecting the reputation of CA & this team was shafted by the very organisation because of a personal mistake he made nearly 4 years ago.
He deserved this send off on his home ground in front of his family, friends and long time supporters.
It's just a real shame that one mistake (that he was cleared and exonerated by an inquiry) can end a kids dream but then for others who make them, they come back and it's all ok and in a way, forgotten.
Double standards from an organisation that clearly doesn't have the back of its people.
A local boy on his local ground in front of his people, Gut wrenching stuff."

Pretty hard not to concur.

The kid from Subiaco, made his WACA 1st grade debut @ 16

No Aussie has ever scored more runs and simultaneously taken more wickets at a lower average in a Test series than Cameron Green. Of the 13 Test wickets he claimed this summer, 10 were top-order batters.

Green also became just the fourth cricketer in history to score 200+ runs and take 10+ wickets in an Ashes series before their 23rd birthday, joining Charles Macartney, Steve Waugh and Stokes.

Before making his Test debut in December 2020, Australian great Greg Chappell labelled Green “the best since Ponting”, a statement that raised plenty of eyebrows at the time.

AAP Headline:

Hazlewood declares himself 'definitely' fit for Sri Lanka series

Sri Lanka? So won't be right for Pakistan?? That's a long time to be injured...

Update: They obviously meant the Sri Lanka slogathon series, not the Sri Lanka Test tour.

Lazza wrote:... I predict that Carey will score a half century in this innings.
No... Low score... But almost in the second innings!! (Top scored with 49, but needed help with bowled off no ball and LBW pitching just outside leg TV review reversal.)
