^ Maybe Donny wants a prediction...

Not a prediction, but there'd be some appeal if Ebden-Purcell win. Ebden is (probably?) missing the birth of his child for this. Shows up the AFL players. They miss games for their births 'cos it doesn't cost them anything. Individual sportsmen don't 'cos it'll cost them everything: their income and GS final/win (or e.g. Tour De France stage win in 2020).

Nadal vs Medvedev
Gonna be tough for Nadal... His US Open Final win against Medvedev a few years ago was already tough. (And Medvedev's much better now than then.) The time violation issue could've cost him the title. The obsession with time limits seems silly to me. Are fans really in such a rush they want that? Meanwhile they do nothing about illegal coaching... Obviously warnings and fines don't do anything. If they're serious about this, they should ban repeat offenders. That'd solve it. One commentator said that. Groth? Can't remember. He said either get serious and ban them or make it legal.

Gotta see whether Shapo is fined for telling the chair ump, "You are all corrupt."

Gleeson: "Ultimately, he was beaten by his own immaturity and intemperance and Nadal’s maturity and guts."
Yep, Shapo was fined. And Medvedev's been fined $12,000 for his "extraordinary verbal tirade" at the chair ump in his SF.

"Australian Open officials confirmed that Medvedev had been issued with two separate fines. The first, worth $8000, was for “visible obscenity”. The second, worth $4000, was for “unsportsmanlike conduct”.
...

Medvedev’s fine, along with that dished out to Denis Shapovalov - who was penalised $12,000 for two separate offences in his quarter-final loss to Rafael Nadal - are the biggest fines handed out so far at the Australian Open."
