Extremely ordinary batting effort from this young SL team. For more years than I can remember, SL cricket board has been saying that they will establish some bouncy tracks in SL to give players some experience with dealing with the balls that get too big on them but nothing ever happens. I can see SL only winning one T 20 in this series if they are very lucky.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!
TBH, I reckon ordinary batting from Oz as well. Only 149 and almost bowled out... Without McDermott, they might have been bowled out for 120.Lazza wrote:Extremely ordinary batting effort from this young SL team. As for balls that get too big... I'm still shocked by the Oz batters' pathetic attempts to play Wood's bouncers in Tassie. They should be embarrassed. Lyon should let 'em have it. He effortlessly hooked Wood for 3 sixes, one of them into the second tier.
Back on this slogathon...
Wowee... FTB Smith yet again had his defective technique destroyed by a legspinner. FTB just swiped across the line and was clean bowled by a ball by Hasaranga that as far as I could see didn't even spin... Looked more like a dart ball...
Zampa got Player of the Match. But cricinfo's MVP was Hasaranga.
If the Slogathon WC is gonna have spinning conditions, Oz are in trouble... At least they have Zampa and Agar. But the batters are hopeless against spin.
