Now England is wobbling at 4/106 after being 1/53. Beaumont and Knight are gone and they still need 98 from nearly 23 overs. They shouldn get them but the NZ innings does make you think the pitch isn't as good as it was when Australia chased on it, yesterday. On the other hand, it might just be that neither of these teams boast the skill and depth of the Australian batting.

England still just 4 down. They need 57 more from 15 overs. They should get their comfortably - but things could change quickly because they seem to have a longer tail than other teams.

Dunkley bowled - but probably too little, too late. England 5/176. They need 28 more from 9 and a half overs.

2 quick wickets. 7/192. Still 12 needed - but 34 balls to get them.

I'm not sure why they are still playing in the rain. I fervently hope it isn't because England has been well ahead on the D/L method.

Now an 8th wicket. Two in the over, as the spinner is skidding through on the damp pitch.

Runout. 9/195. Crazy stuff - run out going for a second that was never there when only 8 runs are needed from almost 5 overs. They've lost 5 for 20.

Remarkably, England are still 5 runs ahead on D/L (and I still don't know why the players are playing, as the rain continues to fall).

England wins - as Shrubsole puts it in the air just past the sprawling midwicket!

I missed it today - but Pakistan have confused things further (and congratulations to them for breaking their 18 match losing streak in World Cup games) by beating the WIndies in a rain-shortened 20-over match.
