Bad light stops play. That will be Stumps on Day 2. 8/232. The lead is 28. Da Silva is 54* and Roach is 25*. The West Indies' innings is presently bookended by two 50 partnerships and a whole lot of not too much in between.

Da Silva came in with the score at 6/95, so his contribution was substantial.

Yes, it almost seems like both teams play a top 8 or so that are supposed to take the shine of the ball for the good batsmen.

It's been a game of inches, though. If Mayers had caught Leach on 10, yesterday and Stokes hadn't managed to get one to "tunnel" into Brathwaite, this could have been a slaughter.

Something not seen before.

Just after Da Silva reached a quite excellent century, he inside edged one to the keeper. He turned to walk off but, with reviews still available, thought he may as well use one.

No spike on snicko at all.

Da Silva had left the field. Called back. :D

Mayers gets his 4th (4/9) - this time it's Lees, gone for 31. 7/97. Or, if you prefer, 7/4.

"Despair on the faces of the England players".
