What is interesting from an Australian point of view is that (as cricinfo has pointed out) that was the first time ever that Australia has won a Test in Sri Lanka batting second.

All my own work.
Good one, Pies4. :D

Second fastest Test win since 1936. Thought I just heard this on the ABC News.

Is that correct ? And ... Overall or Australian ?

The ABC report carries this:
The win came in 153.2 overs for the Test match, Australia's fastest since it demolished Pakistan in Sharjah in 2002.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-07-01/ ... /101202166

Here's the overall list: https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/conte ... 15456.html

So, the stat was just for Australia. The fastest victories for Australia by balls bowled are:

109.2 overs v South Africe, 1932, Melbourne. That's also the fastest ever victory overall.
198 (4 ball) overs v England, 1888, Lord's.
145.2 overs v New Zealand, 1946, Wellington.
148.5 overs v Pakistan, 2002, Sharjah.
153.2 overs v Sri Lanka, 2022, Galle.

"Australia's left-arm spinner Ashton Agar has been ruled out of their second Test against Sri Lanka, which begins on 8 July.

The 28-year-old will fly home after failing to recover from a side strain and has been replaced by left-arm finger spinner Jon Holland."

FTB got a taste of his own medicine!!
And he hated it!
Huge hissy fit as he walked off aimed at Mr NickIt!

So he bones all his batting partners and shows no remorse...
But when he gets run out he goes berko... (And Mark Taylor reckons they were both equally to blame.)

Shameful. :!:

"Three Sri Lanka players have been ruled out of the second Test against Australia in Galle, starting on Friday, after they tested positive to COVID-19.

Dhananjaya de Silva, Asitha Fernando and Jeffrey Vandersay, who all played in the first Test, returned positive COVID tests on Wednesday, ruling them out of the series finale.

It brings to five the number of Sri Lankan players who have tested positive to the virus in the past week.

Former skipper Angelo Mathews will be available for the second Test despite testing positive during last week's first Test, which forced him out of the side partway through the match."
