Good on 'em for trying to make something... But shows how shamefully flat the pitch is. NZ and Pakistan both declared in their last Test. (Just two declarations.) Made the game exciting, but sheesh... Shouldn't need to do that. No two Test sides in the world are good enough to bat 5 days in conditions that are fair to bowlers.
Remember Sheffield Shields games in past times? Sometimes both states would declare without facing a single ball. Okay for Sheffield Shield. But too-artificial declarations cheapen Test cricket.
