Something of a 'ho hum' around this. I've never liked the idea.

Seems Oz has qualified.
ICC World Test Championship 2021 - 2023.
Crappy journalism makes it unclear what India need to qualify.
A lotta articles say stuff like:
'Before the Indore Test, India skipper Rohit Sharma flagged the possibility of serving up a seaming pitch in Ahmedabad to favour fast bowlers and prepare his team for a World Test Championship final that his team can secure qualification for with a win next week.'
(L. Cameron, cricket.com.au)
But it seems a draw's enough. (Maybe depends on the SA v WI and NZ v. SL series?? NZ & England can't make it. Can S. Africa or SL?? ) That's bad for Oz. It's bad for Oz if India prepare a flat pitch. The better for bowlers, the better for Oz. The flatter, the worse for Oz.
Even when it's all about spin, it still follows the rule:
What's good for FTB Smith is bad for Oz.
What's good for Oz is bad for FTB Smith.
'Cos FTB needs it to be unfair to bowlers to score runs. But then Oz lose. But if it's good for bowlers, then SO'K takes 12, Lyon 8 in one innings, etc. And Oz win.
