N daicos

Post by mgh3536 »

Stating the bloody obvious I know saying how good he is, but can anyone think of a player to reach this standard in 20 games?

Bloody incredible to be honest

Not sure if it’s had an impact but josh has elevated his game

I think Josh had already started to elevate his game before Nick was drafted. He was showing steady improvement from season to season prior to Nick arriving (except for those games when he was not playing wing).

The Daicos boys just bring tears to my eyes.... tears of joy. Not only because they are such skilled young Collingwood footballers who do magical things, but because they are such fantastic young men and are so grounded in themselves. Their parents have done a wonderful job regarding this.

The relationship between the brothers is fascinating. I am sure they are very competitive between each other, but Josh is obviously so delighted of Nick's success and so supportive. I like to think that Nick thinks of Josh as "the air beneath my wings". I hope their brotherly love is never tarnished by footy's pressures.

My mind often goes back a lot to the Richardson brothers - Max and Wayne. Wayne probably had the bigger public profile and got more of the limelight because he was a rover, but they were both exceptional players (and captains) of our club..

The coaching staff need to be given a lot of credit for the way they managed Nicks development. He came to club as an U18 goal kicking mid field freak but they settled him in at half back in his first year. It’s so much easier to learn the pace and tempo required, be told where to stand and know who your direct opponent is when you’re playing half back.

Wonderful! Goosebumps and tingles watching that. The roar of the crowd when Nick had lost the tackler and was heading for goal, before he even kicked it......what an electric atmosphere.

The Daicos brothers are truly something special! Their talent and brotherly bond bring so much to the team. Nick's development has been impressive, and seeing him and Pendles together is just magical. Cheers to many more great moments!

If you have Kayo/Foxtel watch the first 5 minutes of on the couch on why it’s almost impossible to tag Nick and why fly jokes around that he should be tagged every week. Obviously they learnt a hell of a lot from the games against Sydney late last years. Up to 5 - 6 players used to break the tag, fascinating stuff.

I think Chris Judd is the last player I can recall having almost an instant impact.

What I love about the Daicos boys is I think they've made each other better. Nick's receives more hype from the media, but Josh's development over the past year or two has been fantastic as well.
