Phasing out native forest logging is 50 years too late but magnificent.
Payroll tax on the wealthiest 10% of private schools: marvellous
Land tax on an investment property (painful) but the right thing to do. The tax break from the federal government will soften the blow considerably although that doesn’t kick in for a while yet.
I reckon they should have taxed investment properties used as AirBnB’s a lot as they are using up residential rental availability.
Taxing big business: marvellous

Fixed it for you. What'sinaname wrote:^ correct analysis. Now do that same based on taxation on state product per capita.
"
What is correct is that over the last 10 years NSW have been higher taxing.
What is correct is that The Malevolent Morrison Gov’t subsidised major projects in NSW while ignoring Victoria.
What is correct is that the Malevolent Morrison Gov’t gave GST monies to WA at the expense of Victoria.
To parrot the Murdoch press does you no merit. Text without context is meaningless.
The right honourable Daniel Andrews won his third successive term in November despite the noise and hate from the Murdoch press and their lapdogs.

This state is cooked and in for a world of pain. What'sinaname wrote:Land tax = increased rent
Tax business = increased prices
Payroll tax = more unemployment and increased prices.
Victorians will be learning the hard way what real pain is when they elect incompetent people to manage the economy.

Who cares what they plan to do, they ain't going to be in a position to do anything for the foreseeable future. The question is, what is the Government going to do about it? They're the ones with the power.doriswilgus wrote:And what does the Liberal opposition in Victoria,or what’s left of it,plan to do about increasing wages?eddiesmith wrote:Real wages continue to plummet, unless you’re in a CFMEU job.

Good point,Swoop.I seem to recall the previous Liberal Federal Government ran up the biggest debt in history, but strangely enough no one here ever started a thread about that.Funny about that.swoop42 wrote:When has a project under any Australian Federal or State Government ever been on budget and on time?

You could always head to the engine room of the country.
Better weather, cheaper housing and plenty of work... on the other hand, the world's most useless drivers, clueless wiggles fans and a pretty average entertainment precinct.

Pert is a lovely place, but I dispute that they have the worlds most useless drivers.
Sydney drivers are appalling, but Melbourne drivers are worse and the minute a tiny bit of rain begins to fall (which is pretty bloody often) everyone completely loses their ability to drive. It's shocking.

Some of us clearly remember the world of pain when we elected Kennet. I remember clearly the immense trauma (and far worse) he caused when he fired people like getting rid of flies. We have long memories and nothing will ever match that pain again whatever uncle Dan doesJezza wrote:This state is cooked and in for a world of pain. What'sinaname wrote:Land tax = increased rent

I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm
