What should be a regulation win is now a genuine 50:50 game. Bombers will be throw everything at us even though they are very unlikely to play finals.

Essendoper were shocking against GWS, have been atrocious for weeks, we should be in a foul mood, and take them to the cleaners, I have NO doubt Fly will have us up and about for this one, last hitout pre Finals campaign. Woods by 43 points.

I've got no idea what to expect, but we should win convincingly and enter the finals with renewed confidence.

Assuming Bobby Hill's injury was hamstring tightness, I'd give him another 2 weeks to fully recover in time for week one of the finals.

Cox to be our main ruck, with Ginni or Lipinski the sub.

Outs: Murphy, Ryan, McCreery

Ins: Ruscoe, JDG, Carmichael/Allen.

Looking ahead to next Sunday I guess we are hoping Richmond could knock off Port and Melbourne beat Swans in Sydney. Melbourne will have a pretty good idea what the ramifications of winning their game will be as they play after Port do. I expect to see Melbourne rest players as a loss assures them of a home final. It’s also gives Swans a free pass to a home final.

Wish we had a thread for other games, other stuff. Anyway nice to know that our VFL team that thrashed Carlton, Geelong and Southport has finished 8th. This means our list keeps match fit for an extra week or more. What’s also great is that today on the last day of the VFL home and away season Carlton got booted out of the finals after a 20 goal loss.

Selection will tell us how seriously we are about finishing the season with a win and on top.

The prize for finishing 2nd looks more appealing to me right now.

Agree that Bobby Hill should be allowed another week off to ensure he overcomes any trace of hamstring tightness
JDG comes in, he needs another hit out before finals.
Murphy should be rested after sustaining injuries last week, so Ruscoe in for him.
Howe to replace Ryan by returning to defence.
We need his leadership in defence now that both Murph and Darcy are absent.
McInnes to come in.
Sub: Cameron
(We need to see how Cox goes by himself in the ruck - did not get to see that last week. Also would like to give McInnes another crack at a full game, he takes over from Howe as a tall forward)
Free Julian Assange!!

Assuming the Pies and Lions will have both won, the cat and mouse between Port and Dees will be a sub plot on its own. I can’t see anyone wanting to go to the Gabba to play the Lions and yet winning form is good form.
It all makes for a very interesting Sunday.

I want to get the win to provide some reassurance but I’d also rather play Port at (our) home in week one and avoid Melbourne and Carlton for as long as possible…

We've been on the top the ladder since the end of round 15.

Fair to say if we all want the finals to damn well just begin so do the players.

Until we're proven wrong we just have to believe we will produce our very best again come September.

P.S- In 2012 Sydney were on top of the ladder from rounds 15-21 before late season losses had them slipping to 3rd.

They won the flag.

Melbourne have the luxury of sitting back and seeing what the results for the other teams in the top 4 are.

If an away final in Brisbane or Adelaide is the prize for victory against Sydney I'd be staggered if they take it.

Not a bad position to be in.

Spewing Essendon put in their absolute shocker last week and didn’t save it for us. Nonetheless we should do enough to win. Then it’s a waiting game to see our opponents most likely Melbourne unless the Power lose, but don’t discount the Saints the way they are playing they might throw a spanner in the works.
