Can someone check on piedys? He might still have his eyes covered! This is what the trauma of past grand finals lost can do to a bloke - here's his last comment in the match thread:

In the course of two seasons, Fly has taken this team to a prelim, then a premiership. And changed the face of this club for all time. As much of a genius of a coach that he undeniably is, I get the sense that his impact on the club as a whole is even more profound. His themes of always looking to get better, enjoy every moment and bring everyone along for the ride really resonate with me. He’s all about staying humble, be a good person and treat everyone in a respectful and kind manner. He is just an extraordinary human being and we are extraordinarily lucky to have him.

I’m just so proud to be a fan of this incredible club.
I, for one, welcome our new black and white overlords

Fagan’s presser was also very gracious and statesmanlike, acknowledging that we played so well and probably deserved to win given the i50 differential. Compared to Goodwin, for example, it showed real quality of the man.

Brisbane are wankers! We deserved to win. The only disappointment is it wasn’t Carlton we beat. They are filth. I am opening the 1990 Premiership Port tonight because the grog delivery dude is running very late and we have run out. Today is a victory for the true believers. Go you mighty Magpies
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

I'm 70 years old and that is the first time I have seen Collingwood win a flag when I have been in Australia since 1958. Seen them lose too many but was overseas for work in 1990 (listened to Radio Australia ShortWave) and was in a plane between Sydney and London in 2010, having thought I would be home for the GF, which was of course drawn.
Interesting, my late Mum was 70 in 1990 and I'm 70 this year.
Hate to think we have to wait until my 31yo son is 70 for the next one - I sure won't be here.

I just watched the replay.
A couple of points.
Number 1 our tackling was immense.
Number 2. Players that I thought did very little like Elliot and Gianni actually did reasonably well
Number 3 getting tom Mitchell gave us a flag.
Number 4 the twin towers in Cameron and Cox also gave us a flag.
Number 5 bobby Hill what a game.
Number 6 as a mathematics teacher it was bound to average out the close results for the grannies.
It did happen in 2023.
Number 7. Can we go back to back? I hope so.
So happy tonight
