Normally that takes 12 months, but if it only takes 9 or 10, you shouldn't be held back.
I think we've all been scarred by David Schwartz who from memory came back about 8 months from his first ACL only to do it again (Correct me if my memory is wrong) but I reckon 8 or 9 months is a realistic target if you're number 1 lucky, number 2 motivated and number 3 resourced to achieve it. ...
If Schwartz had taken 18 months to return, the result mighta been the same. Some dudes lose the genetic lottery.
Sports medicine has also improved in the last few decades.
Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott will spend some time on a modified training program as he manages a minor vascular issue. After experiencing foot soreness last week, the concern was initially believed to be back related but further assessment has revealed a treatable vascular issue.

2023 AFL Premiers
Carmichael suffering from delayed concussion. Sounds like he’s missing this week too.
Tough break for Begg. He was our only cover in the ruck. The MCL strain is not so bad, but it’s the PCL strain that will hamper him for the rest of the year. Thought we already needed to pick a ruck in the MSD but I’m even more sure now. We have very few Key Position players to call on. Double whammy of AFL injuries plus injuries to Begg, Steene, Eyre.
Ryan, Demattia Johnson and Krueger going to have a tough game in the VFL this week. Will be one way like the last quarter against the Bullants.
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark
What on earth is going on with Jamie Elliot. The internet of all things says vascular issues mean clogged arteries from smoking or cholesterol. Surely he’s neither of those

Rd 10 vs Adelaide: De Goey, Mitchell, Harrison (all maybes)
Rd 11 vs Fremantle: Mihocek, McCreery (maybe)
Rd 12 vs Western Bulldogs: Howe (maybe)
?: Elliott, McStay
Quite a significant injury list mounting for our more fringe players, too.

Vascular covers the whole circulatory system and could be an number of hundreds of unrelated issues.
