The hope is that he sensed a taste of what he's capable of in that second half. Things can click in unexpectedly for people; keep supporting, cajoling and encouraging the lad, folks. Worry about next year after this year.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

support all of those wearing the sacred jumper until they retire are delisted or traded.
There were some signs in the second half- I think that Johnson is, at best, a third tall. A bit rich to expect him to step up and be a key.
I back him to play well against the Dees if selected.
I believe that Reef and Hoskin-Elliott are back for the Dees so the likes of Bytel and Parker may be back to the VFL.
I have faith that McRae and co. will make the right call.

Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...

Ash Johnson needs some help to get his game back to where it was 12 months ago. Something is seriously off with him. He isn’t showing any of the flair or skills that was the basis of his game when he was first selected.
I fear his time at the Pies is over but hopefully he’ll turn his form around and discover the love of the game again. Even Brian Taylor commented that Johnson looked like he didn’t want to be out on the ground.

Collingwood Domination. Envy of the Nation!

A bit disingenuous when you consider we were only missing McStay in Round 0 and 1Skids wrote:Needs more of our seasoned players around him.
He could then be freed up and play a role similar to that which Des Hedland played for the brions in the early 2000's.

I think he will be dropped.
Fly was asked about him in his presser and while he didn't want to single him out specifically, it was obvious from his body language that he wasn't happy with his performance.

The Pies have been ruthless the last 5 years with list management. It's been bye bye on our terms to:
* Stephenson
* Phillips
* Treloar
* Grundy
* Adams
* Poulter
* Ginnivan
I expect that to continue in October where Johnson is simply sold off to a club desperate and stupid for a 4th round chump pick despite having 1 year left on his contract or paid out (not to play) Zac Langdon/Jared Polec style.

I feel a bit sorry for Ash. He's a natural, instinctive, highly skilled footballer but he's a 3rd tall not a KPP at AFL level. He plays his best when he's freed up to play naturally but he's being asked to play as a KPP within a very structured forward line, neither of which suit him.
You sense his confidence is shot and the only reason he played last night was because the only other uninjured player on our list over 6'3" who can play forward is Krueger. In hindsight, Krueger should have played instead.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
