Re: Assistant Coach - Hayden Skipworth
West Coast have chosen Andrew McQualter as their next coach.
A football source with direct knowledge of the appointment said the former Richmond and Melbourne assistant coach edged out Collingwood assistant Hayden Skipworth and Geelong’s Steven King.

He will still be an asset with us

I guess it's this ~
"re-shaping the Magpies' ball movement in 2022 and stoppage performances in 2023, improving both areas"

Fly felt it good to have him as Leppa has player acquisition duties

Quietly happy that Skipworth narrowly missed out on the job.
He's been a huge asset for us over the last few years.

Yeah but is his head somewhere else now, does he get a new role to remain at the Pies. Feel like same same could be same same and I don’t want to become ninethmond.
Is Hayden and CFC better off if he makes a fresh start elsewhere now

Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark

This is the biggest weakness in the McFly team coaching philosophy. How d'ya keep all the assistants... and keep 'em happy??The Black and White Lion wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:42 pm Yeah but is his head somewhere else now, does he get a new role to remain at the Pies. ...
Can keep the head coach 'cos he has the "best" footy job. But the assistants? Not so much Skipworth (yet)... But look at Leppa and Bolts.
It's a problem. Maybe hafta keep looking at possible new assistant coaches. (Maybe Leppa will end up a very good list manager. But we dunno. Hasn't done it before.) Obviously our club or McFly reckon ex senior coaches make good assistant coaches. There's Simpson... Ratten... Others have already moved to better-paying footy admin jobs. e.g. Richardson...
