25 years of age and doesn't cost us anything to recruit him.

Looks like a good get on the surface, and will ease the burden on N Daicos.

Perryman has officially nominated Collingwood as his club of choice.
Some potential fallout from this decision -

- Port will now be more reluctant to release Houston.
- Collingwood will now be even more open to trading Noble.
- Peatling MAY be more inclined to join Collingwood, now that his team mate has committed to the club.
- Close mate, Mathew Kennedy MAY be more inclined to want to get to Collingwood ( this is assuming Collingwood are interested in Kennedy ) now that Perryman will be in black and white next year.
- Does Fin MacRae read the room and ask to be released to another club.

Not a bad start to the silly season but we will need to hit the ground running with the Noble trade early in the trading period.

^ good post. I like the thinking about the flow on ramifications...

I suspect Noble was always going. Just a matter of wether GC think they can get him a little cheaper...
Houston is going (IMO), but the argy bargy with Carlton drives up the price and we are probably now priced out regardless
Slightly better chance of Kennedy or Peatling would be good.
I wonder what (if any) impact this has on Ollie Lord leaving Port (ie will they have another $200k to throw around?)
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

^ all good things.

If Houston was never going to be a Pie, then it's better he stays at Port than gets to Carlton. If he got to North, that wouldnt be a bad thing either as it weakens Port, doenst help Carlton, and North will be better but still no top 4 threat.

Trading Noble seems likely. Very sad he has missed out on a flag, as I believe he is one of the biggest MSD success stories. He provided us with a few highlights and over 100 games and it would have been really nice to see him win a flag with us, but we move on and get the best deal.

Peatling would be a great inclusion too. And funnily enough, also a MSD recruit. I dont think he's really blown a game apart or anything, but he is in GWS' best 22, and with Perryman, that really weakens the Giants. He loves a run down tackle and is strong. I believe he will suit Flys pressure game.

Kennedy would then be another good inclusion, taking pressure off some of the older guys and making us younger in the middle.

Getting players that are considered in another teams best 22 can only be a good thing. But lot's to play out of course.

That's what media claimed Port were offering him. Media said our "point of difference" was the lure of "midfield time".

So Pies matched Port??

If that's all true, it's a long contract, innit?

Err... Careful, now... Mebbe if considered "best-22" by everyone. But if considered just by that club... Hmm...

Collingwood have secured GWS free agent Harry Perryman on a six-year deal.
The 25-year-old Perryman informed his former club of his decision on Tuesday.

He spent the weekend weighing up his offers before deciding to join the club his family has long supported. He is expected to play a range of roles at Collingwood including in the midfield as well as defense after showing his talent as a reliable defender in 129 matches for the Giants.

Perryman was a major attraction for several clubs as he is an unrestricted free agent, meaning he can move to his club of choice without being traded. He would likely command compensation at the end of the first round for the Giants due to the length and potential size of his contract.

A Ready-made midfielder is a win. Finn may be traded now IF the interest is good.

Perryman seems a good pick up, but I'm not as convinced about the worth of Peatling.

“He wore number 36 at the Giants due to his love of Dane Swan.”

Will HH be willing to move numbers? He wore 15 in junior days, that could be available if Kreuger is moved on.
