We seem to be trawling far and wide for admin ~

"ADELAIDE list manager Justin Reid is on Collingwood's radar as the Magpies continue their search for Graham Wright’s full-time replacement as head of football."

https://www.afl.com.au/news/1242220/ade ... ham-wright

At least he is someone who has worked with Craig Kelly before...actually, I'm not sure that this is a good thing. Could just be a yes man.

We'll know more at the end of trade period.

Melbourne Storm footy boss Frank Ponissi is on Collingwood's radar as the Pies look to fill the void left by Graham Wright.

I initially looked at this but dismissed it as Ponissi is their CEO not their GM. Unless Ned is going to run for president?

Frank is the Storms Football Manager.

Would have to be a good offer to get him from the Storm as he is pretty entrenched there and close friends with Craig Bellamy.

^yeah...definite brain fart on my part. Long day.

I still don't mind the idea, as the job description has changed. As long as he doesn't get involved in recognizing football talent (beyond athleticism and attitude) then I think it could work. It also depends how much of the Storm's success could be attributable to people like Ponissi or to subsidies within the NRL. But the question remains, can Ned pull in his head and let Frank do the job?

A while back though I read that Nick Maxwell was
some sort of Sports Administration course

Wonder how that went if it happened because there was talk of him filing an off field position

Nick left the club two years ago to become CEO of a company that deals with real estate / co-working spaces. So unfortunately the timing is probably wrong. He's only 41, so one could definitely see him returning at some point in the future to perform such a role. But as he's no longer in the area of sports management so it'd probably be more likely to join the board or as CEO.

Brendon Bolton has departed. Taken up a new role at St Kilda.

There's been too much change since we won the flag.

Imagine being told 12 months ago that we'd lose Wright and Bolton in the near future. No one would have believed it at the time.

Well, our fitness guy is from that different code.

Mind you, it almost cost us the 2023 flag. (Wade was/is in charge of interchanges. We dodged a bullet in the PF with Googs stuck on the bench.)

Changes happen at clubs, they happen anywhere. Boyd comes in as an assistant, Bolton finds an assistant position elsewhere.

Read between the lines.
