So we gave Markov a one-year contract extention what only seems like months ago, only to delist him? WTAF?
So what happens if somebody else claims him in RD?
Are we left paying out his contract for another team? Yeah that would be a first for this club....

Ash Johnson also a year to run until end of 2025; again what happens if somebody else claims him in RD?

If someone picks up either of them, the new club would then take on their contract. We would have nothing to pay.

See above but one of the main reasons ( as with all clubs ) is that as a rookie selection, the first $80,000 of your contract isn’t taken as part of the T P P.

This is definitely a salary cap decision. So that we use the max of the rookie list (6) rather than to have to pay these two on the senior list.
I thought we were gonna go with 38 seniors and 4 rookies, but seems we are doing the opposite, the max rookies and 36 seniors.

Thats right. We are going with 6 in the rookie list (unless one of ash/markov gets selected by another club) and 36 in the senior list - which is the maximum you can have on the senior list. We will be at 33 once membrey is signed, which means 3 picks in the ND

I had to research a bit so i could understand the 44 player list limit.

so yeah as others are saying:
32 player list
6 rookies (including Markov and Ash)

36 Senior list when we add Membrey + 3 picks in the draft
(note: the club can pass on the last draft pick AFAIK, so if we only take 2 we could rookie draft Tomlinson or Weideman?)

^ Can only pass one in the draft if we upgrade a rookie. I think we'll take 3 kids, given our three picks are close together.

^^I am surprised they promised to pick them up as Rookies. Markov will struggle to make it into the Senior team, but he has a better chance to get into the squad than Ash. There is a reason they are moving them to the Rookie list and someone will tell us.

They obviously both have a profile that still qualifies them as rookie nominations, so given the $80,000 discount, it makes perfect sense.

Ok, so now Membrey is here, we have 33 on the list with 3 spots for draftees coming in via the ND. (Totalling 36 seniors)

There's currently 5 on the rookie list, with Markov and Ash to come back on (making it 7).

So this leaves 1 rookie spot open? Is this for Condon? Or is something else planned?
