VAUGHAN PLAYER OF TEST SERIES ??

Post by JLC »

Could it be possible that the team that will lose 4-1 will have the player of the test series ??

Personally my choice would be Michael Vaughan as he has made 3 centuries, two of them against quality bowling attacks. Hayden had a good early part of the series but didnt face much bowling wise.

So my choice is Vaughan

Very hard to go past him, m8. Three centuries - two big ones and was staring a double in the face today but got a rough decision.

Vaughan definately this guy is an absolute champion I adore him! I was so upset when he was giving out lbw I wanted him to make the double century he is just all class! I wish he played for Australia, I think I have a thing for opening batsman (except for Langer) Image

Sadly an Englishman has to win it. His hundreds have been bigger than Haydens.

I'm so use to McGrath or Warne winning the player of the series. It's so weird.

He has been good but he should have been out for 19 in adelaide. I think hado deserve's it. Two of vaughan's centuries were made in dead rubber's so don't really mean anything in the context of the series.

I may be biased (ok, I definitely am! Image), but Matty shoulda been awarded Player of the Series. He performed brilliantly and still shone even in an outstanding team - it's harder to shine in a team of champions than in a team of mediocre hacks as Vaughan did!!!

Vaughan is a worthy winner as he proved himself in foreign conditions against the best bowling attack in the world. I know that is no fault of Haydens as he cant control who the opposition bowlers are but i think it just makes Vaughans innings a higher quality. Plus Hayden was dropped quite a few times when batting wasnt he ??

Somebody rang up 3AW or 927 the otherday and they reckon on average every time Hayden makes a hundred he is dropped twice or something?? Dunno how accurate this is but its very interesting

OK, Mrs Taz. Check out what I wrote after the boxing day Test where Hayden made a ton on the first day.

"Matthew Hayden is in line for Player of the Series and yet, if England had held the chances he gave, he may well be still under 100 runs!

Although Haydos has prospered playing the way he does, it was inexplicable that he went for that shot from the first ball today. Highly irresponsible in such a professional unit"

I love what Hayden and Langer have achieved but it's a high risk policy, esp. Haydos, the way they do it. But if they keep getting away with it, well and good. It's up to the other teams to hold their catches, set better fields and bowl better!

It's england's fault if they can't hold there catches. Would be interesting to see how many hundreds there are without any droped catches. Not many i would think. Vaughan was caught for 19 when he made the first ton plus he made he's other ton's with less pressure. Over rated player in my opinion.
