Don't forget Piedsy, they got us minus Grundy. I reckon that is an equivalent exchange: minus McKay, minus Grundy.piedys wrote: We got them minus McKay too, which was critical.
If he plays, we probably can't cover him.
We'll need to be better again, next time we play them
I was filthy on Jack G for those two misses; they reeked of lairising.
He needs to realise that those are the moments in this caper, where you go from hero-to-zero in an instant; perhaps that was the humiliation on the big stage he needed, to dial it back a little.
Had we lost, yes, I would've laid the blame solely at his feet. Critical misses that eroded scoreboard pressure.
So, here we are at W6/L5 at the turn.
And that's better than we thought we'd be at season's start, but perhaps worse than we deserve?
Are we top eight quality yet? Not sure, but plenty of upside to come.
One week at a time peeps; roll the Whoreks, and see if we can assist the reigning premier with than annual mid-season hibernation, then earn a week off with the bye. That's about as One week at a time as I get!
Go the f#cken PIES! Eat a bucket of hot turds Carlscum!
Therefore zero sum game. We got them full stop.
One week at a time.
Exactly.
Not sure if we are top 8, but under Fly the mindset is to get there. No tanking with Fly steering the ship!
Free Julian Assange!!

Fantastic win. Nothing more satisfying than beating Carlton.
My heart was racing. It shouldn't have got that close, but massive relief for what was a deserving win. Dominated them for much of the game, and probably should have won by 4-5 goals in the end.
Standout performances from Crisp and Noble again. Loved Murphy's game, especially in the first half where he was intercept marking everything that came his way.
Moore was diligent on Curnow which was a difficult task. Cox played his first decent game in ages, so credit where it's due despite the strong criticism I've had about him over the journey.
Ginnivan had a tough day, but I have strong faith he'll bounce back next week.
We have now won as many games this year as we did last year. It's been so much fun watching this team evolve, and seeing what they will produce next. A lot of would have safely predicted after the Bulldogs game that we'd fall away into an abyss, but we've been able to get back and make ourselves relevant to the competition again.
129-4-128.

Fantastic win. In truth our inaccurate set shots on goal, particularly in the first half, kept the scum in the game. We should have won by 4-5 goals. But bad kicking is bad football I guess.
That was Cox's best game since the 2018 Prelim. If he can be half as good each week, he has another 2-3 yrs left in him. Cameron played another good game. Make no mistake, Henry will be a star. It was also Murphy's best game. He is just what we needed, with Roughead now retired. All our defenders were great.
Jordy is playing great footy each week, without having to win the game off his boot. His grunt, along with Adams, around packs are helping us win. Who said Sidey was finished? Class will out.
I'm still not sold on Tyler Brown, but he had 2 minutes of fantastic impact which helped win the game.
Overall, a super win. Go Pies!

Good point and what we once perceived as a weakness, is becoming a bit of a strength ( quick ball movement helps ) We have no reliance on the same one or two players to kick our goals every week. Crisp had kicked a goal in each of previous five games until today and W H E had five from his last three games.Donny wrote:If we were told, before the game, none of these - Checkers, Ginni, Cameron, Crisp, Adams, both Daics, H-E - would kick any goals, we would've expected a thrashing.
I also feel the same positivity about our midfield. There might not be a lot of top shelf talent but it runs deep. Blues had Cripps, Hewett, Cerra and Walsh and then they fell away dramatically for the next in line. We have now positioned ourselves to run out games because we have seven or more who run through our midfield at various times ( Crisp, Adams, Lipinski, DeGoey Pendles Elliot N Daicos and T Brown )
There’s been some very good coaching and strategies going on behind the scenes and a lot of it centres around continually mixing it up both in the midfield and the forward line.

I believe their ruckman in Pitonet was out too, so I had that squared off with Grundy missing.Magpietothemax wrote:Don't forget Piedys, they got us minus Grundy.piedys wrote: We got them minus McKay too, which was critical.

McKay is to them, is what Trav Cloke was to us at the corresponding age.
But yeah, we got the f&ckers all right, and sabotaged their top 4 spot.
And look, even if we don't claim another big scalp before the season is out, i'm dining the f%ck out on today's effort.

Fantastic. I almost feel tempted to put it on and watch it myself.masoncox wrote:Just watched the Club on Foxtel.
What a great movie about Collingwood.
I loved footy in the 70s and 80s.
I feel the footy put up by Collingwood now Mirrors those years.
I just love the game plan and the effort
We might not make the finals but I now have hope.

And for those that have been living under a rock, perhaps you can remind us all of the significance of those numbers above lol?! Is it your locker combination?!Jezza wrote:Fantastic win. Nothing more satisfying than beating Carlton.

ps. If Brian Bloody Taylor was going to bemoan Weitering's injury one more time during the broadcast, I was going to kick his teeth in...
Daisy Pearce was in dipshit mode too; useless today
