Smith's double ton in 4th. Test.
Steve Smith continued (or resumed) his amazing form run in this Ashes series, with 211, on Day 2 of the 4th. Ashes Test. He shared partnerships with Marnus Labuchagne (67) of 116, Matt Wade (16) of 41, Tim Paine - 58 - of 145 and Mitch Starc (54*) of 51 before the declaration came, at 8/497. Starc and Nathan Lyon (24*) added 59 unfinished for the 9th. wicket.
England 1/23 at stumps. Pat Cummins has the wicket.

He's been good at times this series, but a very poor starter. When he plays around straight balls and gets bowled or LBW, it does my head in.

Commentators need to examine what is really happening, instead of making up stories based on the end result (e.g. the number of runs scored). The end result is influenced hugely by luck and context. e.g. It's not true that Paine was batting terribly before and brilliantly this innings. He was dropped twice, once early, so he got luck he did not get previously. And, yep, who would want to be a fast bowler on the pitches around the world today?

Yep, Ricky. This is an example of what I wrote before, commentating based on end results, when those end results are affected by a lot of luck.
