Cobra Starship are another Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance band. They're touring with Panic and The Academy Is... in August as well.

Ah... And have you heard Tokyo Hotel? There's a chick on Facebook who is totally mad about them and I have no idea who they are. I assume another emo band or electronica band.

Getting back to songs, I love "Angels" by Sarah McLachlin. They played it at my nephew's funeral and I just bawled. I'm going to have to try to get the words to it.

Here it is...

Angel (Sarah McLachlan)

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it OK
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction or a beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent revelrie
You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here
So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees
In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent revelrie
In the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here
You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here
A Pie for Life.

almost by tamia, reminds me of a certain someone :)

[Verse 1]
Can you tell me
How can one miss what she's never had
How could I reminisce when there is no past
How could I have memories of being happy with you boy
Could someone tell me how can this be
How could my mind pull up incidents
Recall dates and times that never happened
How could we celebrate a love that's too late
And how could I really mean the words I'm bout to say

[Chorus]
I missed the times that we almost shared
I miss the love that was almost there
I miss the times that we use to kiss
At least in my dreams
Just let me take my time and reminisce
I miss the times that we never had
What happened to us we were almost there
Whoever said it's impossible to miss when you never had
Never almost had you

[Verse 2]
I cannot believe I let you go
Or what I should say is I shoulda grabbed you up and never let you go
I shoulda went out with you
I shoulda made you my boo boy
Yeah that's one time I shoulda broke the rules
I shoulda went on a date
Shoulda found a way to escape
Shoulda turned a almost into
If it happend now its to late
How could I celebrate a love that wasn't real
And if it didn't happen why does my heart feel

[Verse 3]
(sometimes I wanna rub ya, some nights I wanna hug ya)
And you seem to be the perfect one for me
You (some nights I wanna touch ya but tonight I wanna love ya)
You're all that I ever wanted
And you're my everything yes its true
Boy its hard to be close to you
My love
I know it may sound crazy
But I'm in love with you

I missed the times that we almost shared
I miss the love that was almost there (sometimes I wanna rub ya)
I miss the times that we use to kiss
At least in my dreams
Let me take my time and reminisce (but tonight I wanna love ya)
I miss the times that we never had
What happened to us we were almost there
Whoever said its impossible to miss when you never had
Never, never almost had you

I like the second verse from Thank you for the Venom by My Chemical Romance. I always thought it said "You shot your wad" but I recently read the lyrics and he actually says "preach all you want" LOL...

This song is doing heavy rotation on my ipod at the moment. Beautiful, heart-breaking lyrics....

It took me a little while to work out what "you've gone from perfect to divine" actually meant. It dawned on me after about the fourth listen, I think.

The Drones - I'm Here Now

You've gone from perfect to divine
Gone from perfect to divine
Time heals
And time forgets
Your pots pans shoes all your garbage
And your photographs
Had been thrown into the street
And I stood back in shock
Cause now your shit it looked
Lost without you
I broke a window busted your steering lock
And I cleared out of town
Without you

I said that time heals
And time forgets
But time arrived at motel ceiling fans
That just hang there above
Your empty head
After the rent is paid
And your heart's gone dead
Your friends are gone
You have a hunted face
Outside in the heaving fields
Are draped as heavy as lead
Where the dead wood aches
For reprieved from a fate
That seems so fleeting at a distance
Until that distance is tamed
Time does not heal
And it doesn't forget
It just drowns you when you're thirsty and you're lame
You kneel to drink the water
And the water is flame

Time heals
And time forgets
It's doing fine without you
Your radiator still overheats
But now your starter motor
Just refuses to turn
I tell you nothing's really changed
But I am not the same
And you take
Up all my time
You take
Up all my time
You've gone from perfect to divine
You've gone from perfect to divine

I never understood
Although you tried
Tried to explain
While you were alive
What had turned the face I'd loved
Into a stranger's
I'm staring up into
A perfect night
Everything is so wrong
But the time is right
And for the first time now
I'm looking right at you
I am here now
And it does not have a name
You kneel to drink the water
And the water is flame

For me My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Taking Back Sunday, Escape The Fate lyrics do it for me a lot. especially when im feeling down which seems to be alot lately!!!

At the moment its this - Lungs Like Gallows by Senses Fail

I give blood to prove to myself
That I can matter to somebody else.

Is what makes a man the dirt on his hands?
If so, don't put you're faith in the dessert sand,
because the wind is always blowing
There are gallows deep inside my lungs, that's where I hung ambition

Is it luck that's knocking right on my back door?
Because I've been breaking mirrors since 1984

I walk under ladders, I spill salt on sores
and I open my umbrella even when I am indoors

So give me seven more

I give blood not for the cause but to slowly give up the person I was

Holding my breath won't help, everything went to hell
So now I steal back pennies from the well

because my wishes failed

I am screaming at my own shadow to stop living like a ghost

Is it luck that's knocking right on my back door?
Because I've been breaking mirrors since 1984

I walk under ladders, I spill salt on sores
and I open my umbrella even when I am indoors

I don't need her I'm not that desperate
Come visit me in twenty years and maybe then
cause I'm not done screaming yet
you can call off the intervention,

I don't need your attention

bellastar wrote:i have a new favourite song (Well, me and Minna do, she introduced it to me!) 'Damn You Look Good And I'm Drunk (Scandalous)' by Cobra Starship. Best Cobra Starship song ever. Listen to it and absorb its message. And its awesomeness. :) (That was Minna, she's sitting next to me as I write this).
At this very moment I am listening to that song :D

My song at the moment: I love Break Even by the Script. That guy's got such a unique voice. And he's not hard on the eyes, either.
