Fly said at the presser that WHE and Beau are touch and go.
if they are an out ill give McRae and Carmicheal a go.
Hoping McStay can make it
So ill go for a line up like this for the dees match:

cb: maynard Moore N Daicos
c: j daicos pendles lipinski
cf: hill Checkers Crisp
ff: mcstay johnson cox
r: cameron adams mitchell
int: elliott carmicheal mcinnes not too sure on the last int bench spot at this stage
sub ginny

For any with niggles, missing this week becomes a three week break because of the bye. I dont want to lose any games of footy - but it wouldnt be the worst thing ever either if we are tested and they just get us? We're unlikely to go the remainder of the season without a loss or losses somewhere.
Feels like forever since we had to come from behind to win a close one. I am not sure I prefer that or the frustration if watching the second quarter on the weekend?? Goes to show we are pretty spoiled as fans this year I suppose. I've gotten used to us winning all the time and a reminder to stay grounded (as a fan) would be useful too at times.
Having said that, Melb weren't that great against Carlton, and I would probably rather drop a game against someone we are unlikely to meet in a final.

why wouldn't we meet them in a final? Most still have them as a top 4 chance, most likely 4th on current form. I watch them closely as my better half is a Dees member, and despite looking average at times the stats don't lie, they have the 2nd best % and highly rated for defense and scoring.piffdog wrote:Melb weren't that great against Carlton, and I would probably rather drop a game against someone we are unlikely to meet in a final.
I'm worried about next week. Teams that travel to WA usually play poorly the following week due to the travel catching up with them. Thankfully we have 9 days to recover but will also be missing key personnel. Melb have a 10 day break and played at home.
I'd like to drop Ginni, he just doesn't have any pace or defensive pressure. He is a one trick pony and found wanting too often. Unfortunately I fear McCreey may have a syndismosis (sp?) and may miss multiple weeks, so we may need to keep Jack in.
Have gut feeling that mccreery and whe will miss beau looks like after bye so a 3-4 weeker for his foot thing.
Channel 7 had vision of him picking up his bags at the airport with an ankle support thong thing and WHE will be a rest.
Both be back shortly after the bye.
I’ll give Carmichael and McRae a go and in comes lipinski
Just feel McStay is just after the bye
Steele to have a final scan tomorrow and expects to return for the dogs game be it a suspension so too JDG
I do think Collingwood will still beat Melbourne even with Oliver back in and win by 3 goals.
Looking forward to the bye and a well earned rest and gear up for the second half of the season.
Good that after the bye we are at the MCG as well

Without doubt we will miss both JDG and Sidearse, they are major playmakers, around the ground, they probably contribute to us kicking 3-4 goals a game, not saying they kick them, but they set them up, further up the field, so they will be missed. But, maybe, just maybe, we can cover them to a certain extent, as we have great depth now. as we have covered No rucks, no Howe, Lipinski, Tay, in other matches. Time will tell.
Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Apologies - you misunderstood, or I phrased my statement wrong.blybo wrote:Why wouldn't we meet them in a final?piffdog wrote:Melb weren't that great against Carlton, and I would probably rather drop a game against someone we are unlikely to meet in a final.
I would rather drop a game against someone like Essendon, GC, Tigers - who we are unlikely to meet in a final. So I think I am saying I agree with you - we ARE likely to meet Melbourne in a final, and therefore I would rather beat them now to reassure ourselves...

If they had bought out the screen and the .22 he would have made a miraculous recovery.watt price tully wrote:The hearse driving onto the field to pick him up when he hurt his leg.David wrote:…..
What's the source for WHE being in doubt?
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
Don’t want to drop one but this feels one we can drop. Would still retain top spot and it’s unlikely to go through the season 22-1 (when did we go to 23 games a season?).
Out: JDG, WHE, McReery
In: Carmichael, Elliot, Probably Reef.
Assuming WHE and McReery get up Elliot comes in for Ginnivan who is probably sub.

The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

Yeah but he's made of glass. Did you see in the VFL he got injured again and made a surprising return in the last quarter? Probably as a last ditch effort to convince the selectors. But sorry Krugs is a liability to himself and the team - another Rusling.masoncox wrote: Kreuger looked ok to come in up forward
