At 43 (I think), PC may be the likeliest candidate for such a "sad" injury. (But I put up the name, of course, because that club is the one where such injuries happen all the time. :( ) He came on as sub in their warm-up match, and it wouldn't totally surprise me if people said he fielded better than current players.

This is the sort of thing that could destroy the game... unless the Windies outperform England in this WC anyway. He entered England when he was about 20. Sigh...
