^ If India are all out for 47 or 48, they'll rue the run that got away - England were on 80 when that catch was taken.

Master & Apprentice skittle Poms.

Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel ran through England's second innings to dismiss them for just 81 - a new record low, against India. In just his second Test, Axar took 6/38 & 5/32. Ashwin (3/26 & 4/48 brought up his 400th Test wicket.
India needs 38 more to win. 0/11 at the long break.

As if the 81 wasn't humiliating enough, for England, the way the Indian openers polished off the runs showed absolute distain.

I have new material for the "batting collapses" thread.

But maybe the pitch was a little extreme. Joe Root 5/8??

"Modern batsmen tend to like flat tracks on which they can hit through the line of the ball and celebrate their power and audacity. But if they really want to improve - and if they really want to challenge in such circumstances - the ECB may want to rethink their attitude to spinning pitches in the modern game.

Most of all, they may want to rethink their mind-set. Trying to hit your way out of trouble in Test cricket is the get-rich-quick scheme of the sport. It is, generally, there to mask a lack of faith in a defensive technique. If you really want to score runs in Asia - anywhere, really - you have to learn to defend in Asia."

Who is Dobell ? And why do you think his 'opinion' is even valid, let alone quotable ?
