Those 69rs lost it when they bent over & we gave it to them up the ass. Candledick Park will never be the same again.

I knew we had it won at the coin toss in OT.
In fact, I reckon they should introduce first score wins in AFL too when it's a drawn game.

Yup, one's got a bright future and the other should be out to pasture. I'll let you decide which is which.

Hi everyone. I'm back from my summer holiday. How things have changed! How the mighty have fallen!

My Packers are in mothballs (except for the 43 of them who will take the field in the Pro Bowl 8)) and we are going to be treated to the spectacle of the fourth and fifth best QBs squaring off in the Superbowl.

Commiserations to OEP - and thanks for posting the previews before last weekend's big games. I was barracking for your 49ers - so, it's probably my fault they lost. Not that I especially dislike the Giants, just that seeing the 49ers with their mojo back was a great thing. Sorry also to YFE - you have the problem of bleeding black and white AND green and yellow: must be a hard one for the doctors to sort out at check-up time. Anyway, better luck next year to our teams. Hopefully the 49ers can unearth a new Jerry Rice and the Pack can unearth the next Reggie White - oh, how we could have done with the Minister of Defence against the Giants.

I was sorry to see the Ravens miss the SB but I suppose that the Patriots deserved some sort of reward for bundling Tebow out of the play-offs in ignominious fashion. And, frankly, if your field-goal specialist kicks like that on a clinch play, you can't expect to make the big dance.

A heads-up for fellow Packer fans: try to avoid the "America's Game" broadcasts over the next few days - they all seem to be of Elway's 1997 Broncos. That really was the one that got away.

Superbowl time, then. 10.00am Monday, 6 Feb, Melbourne time.

Patriots v {another team} (briefly, until the game is abandoned with the Pats leading 42:0).

Except that Gronkowski is training in a moon boot.

Meanwhile, Eli is deflecting questions about how he'll feel if he manages to fluke one more Superbowl victory than Peyton.

Discuss.

Giants are going to give the Patriots the hiding they deserve for thinking they could win it all without the need for a decent defence. They were bloody lucky against the Ravens and if people were honest about the game then they'd agree the Ravens should be playing in the Super Bowl against the Giants instead of the Patriots.

Either way it's going to be a Giants win 35-17. Lock it in Eddie

How the #$%^ can Drew Brees get Offensive Player of the Year and not then win the MVP, given that he and A-Rod play the same position so it's not their defensive qualities that made a difference between the two.

Brees: 5476 passing yards
86 rushing yards (1 TD)
46 TDs (14 int)
1 fumble (1 lost)
110.6 QB rating.

Rodgers: 4643 passing yards
257 rushing yards (3 TDs)
45 TDs (6 int)
4 fumbles (0 lost)
122.5 QB rating.

It Brees was judged better offensively than Rodgers then he had a better season than him and thus should have been named MVP.

Total BS as far as I'm concerned.

It seem that because the NFL wanted Rodgers awarded the MVP they had to give Brees something being as he passed Marino's passing record, Manning's completion record, his own passing completion percentage, and also surpassed 300 passing yards for seven straight games and 13 times during the season (both beating league marks he already held).

Don't get me wrong Rodgers had a fantastic season but if you take away the near unbeaten season then, in my view, Brees was clearly better.

I'm going for the Patriots because basically the only thing I know about NFL is that Tom Brady is a very beautiful man.

14 m 17 s to go in the 4th quarter. Brady has a brain fade and throws an interception on a hail-Mary. Giants trail 15:17 but have the ball.
